Temperature distribution measurement in soil (2014 – 2015)

In this project we have designed and implemented a measurement system for unsteady temperature distribution in soil around hot water pipes. We have made two variants of technical solution to monitor the temperature distribution of soil around both hot water pipes during the heating season. The data was used to calculate the thermal conductivity of soil and also the total heat loss and its dependence on boundary conditions. The device is fully autonomous and uploads the data via mobile GSM network.
